TAWILA OILFIELD DISTRICT
The Eastern Hadramaut or Masilah-Sayun Basin Play fairway has proven to be a productive petroleum province. It is also an extremely difficult, expensive, arid plateau / wadi terrain for seismic operations and for effective seismic acquisition / imaging. However, it is also an arena in which RSDD-H surveying identifies the significant discoveries nicely and offers up further prospects and leads for future exploration.
This RSDD-H IPD image of the Tawila oilfield shows a strong central anomaly (dark tones) over the main field, set in a surrounding Low Prospectivity Zone (pale tone areas). Field and nearby wells are shown in yellow with the main field processing centre also displayed in the SW corner of the anomaly. The image suggests a field extension / satellite trap immediately to the east of the main pool that is still largely undrilled.

Local geomorphological tracts of plateau edges and wadi courses are readily discernible as "false interference" features and do not distract from the primary prospectivity interpretation.
